What is Recent Activity?

Recent activity (i.e. searches or records accessed) within NCBI databases is saved while logged into a My NCBI account. This activity is retained for six months unless cleared or disabled.

Viewing Recent Activity

Recent NCBI database activity may be viewed in the Recent Activity portlet in a My NCBI account's dashboard. The portlet will display the last six months of activity by default.

Turn Off or Clear Recent Activity

To remove all current items in recent activity select "Clear" or to turn off tracking searches select "Turn Off." Tracking may be turned back on whenever desired.

Managing Recent Activity

A full detailed view of all data stored in recent activity may be accessed from the bottom of the Recent Activity portlet.

This will present a full activity history list sorted by date. Individual activities may be searched, deleted, saved as permanent searches, saved to collections, or re-accessed through the URL link on the right of the record.
