Linking ORCID to myNCBI
1). If you do not already have a myNCBI account, you may register for one using the link below.
2). Select the ORCID profile option as your login preference. If you do not already have an ORCID profile, please register for one first.
3). Once signed in, your ORCID credentials will now be the primary way you may log into your myNCBI account. You are also able to link other login credentials as backup logins to the same account. This is recommended if any of your credentials are tied to an institution so that you may always maintain access to your myNCBI account.
For instructions on how to link other login credentials to your myNCBI account, view the Add ORCID Login to Pre-Existing myNCBI Account tab on this page and follow the instructions for linking an additional account and substitute ORCID as an option for that account.
1). Login to your myNCBI account using whatever credentials used to setup the account.
2). Click on your profile credential username in the upper right hand corner of your account dashboard screen and select "Account Settings"
3). Under the Linked Accounts section, select the "Change" option.
4). Search for "ORCID" and select the ORCID option that appears. This is also where you may search for other third-party login options.
5). You'll be prompted to provide your ORCID login credentials. Enter them, and your ORCID profile will now be connected to your myNCBI account as a login credential. You may now use ORCID or your original sign-up account as the login method on myNCBI.
