Covidence Access
In collaboration with KU-Lawrence Libraries, all KUMC affiliated Dykes Library users have access to a full organizational Covidence license with unlimited reviews. Review may include non-KU or KUMC accounts, though they must be started by a KU or KUMC affiliated account.

What is Covidence?
Covidence is a web-based tool that will help you through the research review process of screening your references, data extraction, and keeping track of your work. It is particularly useful for researchers conducting a systematic review, meta-analysis or clinical guideline.
Accessing Covidence
If You Haven't Created a Covidence Account
- Use the link below to reach the Covidence Organization page for the University of Kansas. Enter your name and email and click the Request Invitation button.
- After requesting access, you should receive an email in your KUMC email from support@covidence.org asking you to verify your address. If you don't see an email within an hour check your Junk Email and Deleted Items folders.
- After verifying you'll be given the chance to create a profile and set your password. This password and your Covidence login credentials are separate from your KUMC network credentials you use for other library resources, and are maintained by Covidence. Resetting this password should be done through the Covidence site.
- Note: per the Password Policy of KUMC, "users should never use their KUMC network password for non-KUMC "personal" accounts (e.g., personal email)." See link below to review the University's Password Policy.
If You Have Created a Covidence Account
- Use Covidence link to sign-in.
I already have an account with another institution/a personal account.
That's fine! Upon setting up your KUMC account, you'll have the option to switch between your differently licensed accounts once logged into Covidence.

Common Covidence Questions
Who can sign up for a Covidence account?
Anyone affiliated with KUMC (i.e. they have an email with an @kumc.edu domain) can sign up for an account.
Can I collaborate with non-KUMC researchers?
Yes. You may invite non-KUMC affiliated researchers to participate fully in your review after you have created your account. Use the link below for more information.
Can I import my EndNote references/.pdfs into Covidence?
Yes, after a Review in Covidence is created, you will see an option to import references from a citation manager such as EndNote, including .pdf files attached to those references. For more information, use the link below.
Can I use Covidence as a desktop app?
No. Covidence is a web-based application, and may only be used on a web browser, such as Chrome, Firefox, Edge, or Safari. You may access it via desktop or mobile.
