Creating Links for Off-Campus Access to Library Resources

Linking to Articles

There are several options to link directly to articles within the Dykes Library collection. The goal of each is to connect people with the content they are entitled to as KUMC affiliates.
Use the below table as a guide to select which method you want to use when linking to content in your course.

Citation Linker Develops resource finding skills
Easy to just give all students a citation.		 Students must use search skills to retrieve article or book chapter. Use this if you want your students to develop resource finding skills using known citations.
KUMC Find It! Link Most reliable method for providing links that work on and off-campus.
Easy to validate that our library still has access to the content each semester.		 Must generate Find It! Page URL for each article. Use this if you want to easily create reliable links for on and off-campus access.
Permalinks / DOI Provides direct link to access full text content. Must find permalink for each article. Must attach KUMC Proxy Prefix to article for use from off-campus. Use this if you want to provide one-click access to the full text content.
