Linking to E-Journals and E-Books

Creating Links for Off-Campus Access to Library Resources

Finding Find It! Page for an article

People often locate articles via the FindIt! page when searching on PubMed or CINAHL. If you would like to share content that is available from the FindIt! page, you simply need to copy the URL from the Internet Browser address bar and send this link to another person.

Alternatively, if you have a known citation:

  1. Navigate to the Dykes Library Citation Linker page.
  2. Enter in as much information as you have about the article, as shown in the below image.

Linking through the Find It! Page

The KUMC FindIt! page shows links to all electronic resources available through the Dykes Library. If we subscribe to the full text of a journal or e-book you will see a Get Article button, similar to that shown below. Sharing the URL to a KUMC FindIt! page is often the easiest and most reliable way to share library content with other KUMC affiliates.

For Example: https://mt8fd2he2v.search.serialssolutions.com/?sid=Entrez:PubMed&id=pmid:30967653

Because anyone can access these find it pages they will be prompted to authenticate using their MyKUMC credentials after clicking on the Get Article link. This ensures the links work for any person on or off-campus.
