Veteran Care Poll

Do you routinely ask if a patient's chief complaint is related to a deployment?

Did you know?

  • Since September 11, 2001, more than 2 million US troops have been deployed to Iraq and Afghanistan. About 40% of current military service members have been deployed more than once.

  • In the current conflicts, the military has experienced multiple redeployments, short dwell time between deployments, greater dependence on the National Guard and reserve components, deployment of high numbers of women and parents of young children, and a higher number of service members who survive serious injuries that in previous wars would have been fatal

With an estimated 22.2 million Veterans in the United States it is imperative that medical professionals have the information needed to properly care for this unique population and their family members. This Libguide aims to provide direction and resources for professionals to integrate into their everyday practices to better serve military personnel and their families.
